The People Behind the Practice
Our Team
Thriving in Safe Places is led by its founder and supported by a trusted, multidisciplinary network of care professionals.
Founder & Chief Executive Director
Rose Nyakato Kiiza
Rose Nyakato Kiiza is a Public Health Specialist, Counselling Psychologist and Sociologist with more than twenty-five years of experience in international development and humanitarian work, leading organisations through hands-on practice in community programming and care for individuals and groups in need of mental wellness and psychosocial support.
Her career has taken her into some of Uganda's most vulnerable communities, where she has led programmes in child protection, women's empowerment, mentoring and career coaching, as well as community led development.
She founded Thriving in Safe Places out of a conviction that mental wellness support should be as dignified and accessible as any other essential service. She now leads the practice's clinical direction and its wider network of mental wellness professionals, so that together they can continue to deliver healing and wellness for individuals, families, institutions and communities worldwide.
